A decent Chinese restaurant located at Kalakaua Ave which is across from Waikiki Beach. Friendly service and wide selections on the food menu. Had the crispy seafood noodle and remarkable delicious. The seafood was very fresh. Noodle was fried but not as greasy as many other places. The sauce wasn’t too thick and everything was done to my liking. It’s a little more expensive than other restaurants all because of its location. It’s better to go in a small group so that you can order more dishes. I would go back and try other dishes next time!

Service was great, however was not impressed with the Peking duck, they provide 6 pre-made Peking duck wraps made with pancake or steamed bun. We got the pancakes, the duck skin inside was not crispy at all. The plum sauce was too thin. The rest of the duck is brought out plate, minus all the skin which if cooked correctly is the best part. The dim sum app was all steamed together so when trying to eat it, they all stuck together. The service was great however, they are very attentive which is nice. I would not recommend going here for the duck.

Service was terrible, waited around 7 minutes just to meet our server and the food portions was ridiculous. The sea food fried rice tasted like it was dipped in water. The shrimp was was beyond small and so was the scallops, i say about maybe 2 full scallops cut into micro bits were put into the fried rice. Shrimp had zero flavor and for it to be so small was crazy. Shrimp tasted like the frozen place they pulled it from, bite into it and your biting into water. What’s funny is i’m still waiting to pay for the bill and it’s been almost 15 minutes since i’ve told the server that we’re ready to pay. I’ve ate at 10 places here at hawaii so far on my second day, this place by far is the worst restaurant i’ve ever ate at.

Amy was the best! Amazing food and great beers. Some of the kindest and most respectful staff I have ever encountered! Always checking in on the table and making sure we were all setup. A legendary spot! Like i said, the staff were so polite and diligent. Amy and her team had it running perfect!

I am Cantonese, and this is NOT authentic cantonese cuisine. It’s probably as authentic as TacoBell to Mexican cuisine or Panda Express to Chinese cuisine.
The most basic Cantonese dish - fried beef ho fun - was a big disappointment. Lack of seasoning, lack of wok-hey, and the noodles were chunky. The cook did not even bother to separate them prior to cooking!
I came thinking it would be the same Kirin restaurant as the one in Vancouver, but it’s obviously not the case.

Honestly, the food was great but there are so many other problems. For one, the quantity of food for the price is ridiculous. We should have had more. Then, the floor was dirty and I saw a roach on the corner which truly killed my appetite for the night. I rushed to finish my food and get out of there. The waitress and waiter were so busy that I had to turn just to get the attention. They basically filled our cups with ice and barely any water. Very disappointed ☹️

My family and I came to visit this place as we are on vacation here in Hawaii. The food was okay. Not as good as any Chinese restaurant that we have back home but I’d give the food 6.5/10. The service on the other hand was terrible as we had to remind our server of our order 3x while waiting for a single fried rice dish. The other dishes were brought but since we were waiting for the rice the food had all went cold. The manager had tried to offer us compensation in mango pudding. We are not impressed.

When we finished eating they immediately rushed to clear our table before the check was even brought to us and then lady was literally standing next to our table waiting for payment, I can sense her attitude when she took the money lol. Overall there was a sense of arrogance coming from them. Taste was okay but not very authentic, definitely not what they advertise themselves to be. Portions are pretty small too for this type of canton seafood restaurant. Stairs are greasy and slippery looking, not a pleasant environment.

I will start off by saying the food was great! Their pot-stickers and hot and sour soup was delicious.
The service was terrible! We had to ask for a fork from 3 different waiters, only to be overlooked constantly. Very confused by this restaurant’s good reviews. We did not experience a single positive thing here. The service was mediocre but the food was downright disgusting. The dim sum sampler was tasteless and gummy. The Peking duck had little to no taste, even with added sauce. The Kirin noodles topped the experience off with no taste plus a sauce so laden with corn starch it was almost glowing.
Go anywhere else. Panda Express would be better and wayyy cheaper. Don’t waste your time, money, or tastebuds here.

We just moved to the island recently and have been trying local cuisine. The food here was all mostly frozen, chicken was gamey, fish was extremely fishy and had a frozen taste. Everything is very overpriced for what you actually get in the meal. Service was not very good either. Had to ask for a water refill twice. Would not reccomend.

Kirin takes on the spot previously occupied by Seafood Village. I imagine it is only a name change as the wall decorated with photos of the owner and various celebrities is still intact and the room arrangement seemed to be the same as well.
Started off the meal with crispy lettuce wrap and the lettuce was truly "crispy" and fresh. The Peking duck appetizer was prepared ahead of time into convenient rolled buns so it was a well thought of alternative to the traditional service method for this item.
All the dishes we ordered were delicious but the star of the show was the Dungeness crab. Ours was a 2.75lb monster but it disappeared in no time in front of 4 hungry diners. It went perfectly with glasses of chilled Chinese rice wine as well as with the tasty sauce smothered over white Jasmine rice.
Garlic ong choi rounded out the meal experience. Service by all staff was extremely attentive and professional. A rare find in the middle of busy Waikiki located on the lower level of the Hyatt Regency Ewa Tower.

Family and I dined in for dinner. Service was quick and attentive. Food was delicious. We ordered honey walnut shrimp, green string beans with minced pork, sizzling platter sliced beef tenderloin, stir fried choy sum w/ minced garlic, and steamed fish filet with ginger & green onions. The standouts for me were the honey walnut shrimp and the steamed fish filet. The shrimp was perfectly crispy and sweet yet savory. The steamed fish filet was extremely soft and tender with highlights of freshness from the ginger & green onion and also had a soy based sauce that added a perfectly light umami flavor. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for delicious Chinese food to stop by & dine in.

first time trying Chinese food in Honolulu and it was surprisingly delicious. I really surprised by their quick services and the quality of the food. Even though it was almost 9, the restaurant was pack with people, and we only waited for like 10mins and got a table, so you don’t have to worry about the waiting time. I give this four stars and not three because the food is very authentic. Started with a Dim Sum plate served in a bamboo bowl: shrimp, pork and veggie, sticky and tasty. We all had Kung Pao: shrimp, chicken and beef. Comes with steamed rice. Not very spicy, if you ask me, maybe cuz we’re tourists they went east on us.
Service was incredibly slow, but it gave me time to observe this big guy a couple of tables over order and consume two giant plates of seafood and sides while sitting alone at the table FaceTiming someone. When our food did arrive it was flavorful, but not spicy. For the price, I’d probably go somewhere else for authentic.

Our family got our Chinese Food Fix at Kirin. We didn't want anything fancy, we wanted some down to earth classic Chinese food.
We were delighted with our meal. The fried rice and Ong choy were pretty good.
A bottle of tsingtao with the meal just git the spot.
We highly recommend it. It's in waikiki under the Hyatt hotel. Super convenient (as a tourist).
We are definitely coming back before going back home.

We are Chinese and were craving for Chinese food during our trip in Oahu. Due to good reviews, we stopped by at Kirin. The first impression is that the long stairs leading down to the restaurant are glossy and greasy. Once seated, I can smell the grease inside the restaurant. The fried veggie rice was good while three other dishes were not impressive at all. Due to the greasy smell and environment, I would not call it a pleasant dining experience.

Excellent food and service! The restaurant is in the complex that's part of the Hyatt and down a flight of stairs, so slightly hard to find, but it's worth the trip. We were seated immediately and the service was warm, friendly and efficient. We ordered the spicy shrimp, noodles and two soups, and all the food was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Food - We ordered a lot, but there were 11 of us and we did family style. We had 4lb lobster, salt and pepper fish, salt and pepper squid, peking duck, mushroom and bok choy dish, stir friend green beans, spare ribs, chow fun, honey walnut shrimp, crispy egg noodle stir fry with seafood, kung pao chicken.
My favorite was the salt and pepper fish and the chow fun.
Service - The servers were very nice and attentive, no ones glass ever went below half full. My only complaint would be that they were a little pushy trying to get us to order certain dishes even if we just mentioned it as a group to see if people wanted it.
Ambiance - The place is right near Waikiki Bay, just walk downstairs to the restaurant and it looks like your typical Chinese restaurant (nothing crazy). The bathrooms were well kept.

The food was just average for the price. Rice was not included in any dishes, which was weird for a restaurant of this type.
The waitress was funny but completely distracted or disorganized, we got double orders of appetizers. The side staff were very nice and kept waters full and empty plates collected.
The alcoholic drinks were slightly pricey, and tasted like they were skimpy on alcohol (definitely not 2 ounce pour).
Overall, not a bad place, but I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the food.

The decor is pretty good though not as good as some of the other places we went to while in Honolulu. The food was good and the service was prompt. It is not up the standards of other Asian restaurants we went to like Morimotos and Roys but it is at a lower price point. All in all it was pretty good and worth a try.

We had a very delicious dinner. The menu is large so it was hard to choose. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Every dish was very good. I haven't been very fond of Honey Walnut Shrimp. But this was very good. The Peking Duck comes with six buns already made with Duck Skin, Scallions and Cucumber. They provide a saucer of Hoisin Sauce. The Duck was very good. The Garlic Green Beans (we ordered without pork) had a good spice and were great. The Salt and Pepper Fish was very tasty as well. My husband and I was just here several hours ago (8pm). The restaurant wasn’t crazy busy when we were seated. Maybe 6 or 7 tables were occupied including us. We ordered 1 beverage, 1 beer, 2 soups, pan fried noodles (seafood), and Peking duck. The plan was to order more if the portions didn’t satisfy us. The soup came out first, we asked for fried wontons which are usually served with soups but they didn’t have any. I asked for chili oil, the waiter comes back and brings in sambal chili paste/black pepper 🤦🏻♀️ when they brought out the pan fried noodles, I was so disappointed. Pan fried noodles is one of my favorite go-to when eating at a Chinese restaurant. Noodles are fried crispy, then lightly coated with the protein of choice in a gravy-like sauce. However this was not I ended up with. The noodles were soaked in the sauce to the point that it became soggy. Flavor wise, it was bland. I couldn’t eat the rest after two bites. When the Peking duck came out, my husband and I were tad bit confused why there were two dishes. 1)one with the baos assembled 2)the duck dish with no skin. The baos were assembled in a way that anyone can tell from first look that someone in the kitchen didn’t seem to care for presentation. I’ve never had Peking duck where someone sloppily put something together and serves it to you. Flavor wise, it’s 😒 at this point. I’ve eaten so many Chinese restaurants before and this has got to be the worse one I’ve been to. I was quite offended. You would think that this area of Waikiki is where dining has high standards, but clearly that was no where to be found. I feel bad for those who eat here. I don’t usually post reviews, but this one was quite upsetting. Im not expecting anything in return as Im not locally from here. I just hope the business does a better job on improving the quality of food delivering from kitchen to table.

Well this place was definitely worth dropping in. We got the fresh crab and I definitely recommend asking if it is boiled or fried. Ours ended up being fried, which we werent aware of, did taste delicious, but hard to get it all out of the shell as it was slippery and a lot of the meat was stuck to the shell. Service was great and our food did come out super quick.

The best Chinese food I've had in a long time! The service is great, I heard the staff speak English, Cantonese and Japanese to customers. The ingredients are high quality, the food has just the right amount of flavor, it's not sickly sweet North Americanized but some dishes such as the lemon chicken do have a hint of sweetness. This was the best restaurant that we have been to since coming to Waikiki to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary just last week. The moment my husband and I walked in we felt welcomed in. The staff were very professional and gave us enough space and time to order and even to eat without being overly on top of us. The restaurant was nice and cosy, and the food was spectacular and flavorsome. It was the first meal here in Waikiki that I finished the whole plate!!! My husband is so fussy about his food and he loved his dish so much that he ordered a different main meal! The price of the meals were pretty competitive especially being on the main strip of Waikiki and we felt worth what we paid for them. We highly recommend this Restaurant.

This was the best dining experience my family and I had during our stay in Waikiki. When we walked in the restaurant, the staff immediately got a waitress who spoke English to help us. Haui was our waitress, and she was so great! The manager, Amy, was amazing as well. We watched her go to several tables to make sure customers were enjoying their dinners. She helped take orders so tables wouldn’t have to wait and we also saw that if any of the customers needed something she would help the staff and bring it to the tables herself. The entire staff was so wonderful. Not to mention that my family and I were starving, and after the appetizer they told us the food would be out in about ten minutes. As soon as they walked away, the food came right out! It was great. The portions were huge, the price was appropriate and the food tasted so good. The fried rice is the best we’ve had, and they even gave us complimentary desserts.
If you’re going to Waikiki, give this restaurant a try! It’s right under the Hyatt Regency and you won’t regret it! I hope they branch out and start opening more (:
